Introduce yourself to our readers—tell us about your cafe!
SÖT Coffee Roaster is a specialty coffee roaster based in Japan Kansai, with our first shop standing at Otemae, the knee of Osaka Castle. It was founded on the concept of the highest quality coffee drinks that inspire everyday life.
Our coffee beans for both filter and espresso are emphasizing the lighter-roast side for extracting the maximum essences from natural, fermentation, and other exotic processes. We have been consistently rated by CoffeeReview.com with 94 to 96 pts and top-tier annual rankings in their coffee of the year selections.
Our shops are featuring English and multicultural events every month, with staff speaking multiple languages. We are English and foreigner friendly.
What equipment do you use in your shop?
Sanremo Cafe Racer and Eureka Zenith 65S for espresso, Mahlkönig EK43 for filter
What equipment do you use in your shop?
We currently roast our beans in our SOT Lab Hibarigaoka and SOT Nigawa coffee shop.
What is the neighborhood like where you’re located? What’s some other cool stuff nearby?
Our Osaka-Temmabashi shop is just a 10-minute walk from Osaka Castle Park, a world-renowned symbol of Japanese history in the age of warlords from the 16th century. Osaka is also recognized as the “Kitchen of Japan” with a super wide spectrum of catering culture for everybody’s wishlist.
What’s something cool or unique about your cafe you want folks to know?
We keep searching for high-quality beans and import them directly from all over the world, handpicking on the strictest standard, and carefully roast coffee beans in small batches in our far-infrared driven 3KG roaster with customized firmware.
“SÖT” means “sweet” in Swedish. We would like everyone to enjoy the sweetness of coffee as a “fruit”. We are working hard to share the sweetness to empower your everyday life.
Our aggressively light roasting style allows us to enjoy the real taste and freshness of coffee like sweet juice. We hope that you will enjoy the diversified personalities of coffee beans and find your favorite coffee at SÖT COFFEE.
Is there a community organization or charity you’d like to shout out as part of this feature?
We are building an international community with lots of local and international events. Please drop by us for coffee and events!
Thank you!
